Derah came into our life at the early age of 16 when she married her life long partner; my brother; Kie Carter. In most cases she would be considered a sister-in-law. However, she meant more than that to me. Hence, I gained a sister whom I loved dearly. She proved to be everything a family could need. Especially to my brother and their kids. None of which could have asked for any better to be their wife, mom, or friend. She truly stepped up and filled the shoes of a grown woman and displayed love and courage in all areas. She will forever be loved and missed. However, I look forward to the day when we will be reunited under much better conditions than this world displays today. Jesus likened death as sleeping in the Bible Book of John 11. He even promised that he would awaken all those who have fallen asleep in the future. John 5: 28, 29. Thus though we may sorrow now. I look forward to the day we will be reunited when this world is cleared of all the horrible things we have to cope with during these last days ( 2 Tim 3:1-5) of this system of things. Ish 65. What a wonderful day it will be when we will meet again and live happily ever after in this renewed earth (Originally known as Paradise) where no one will ever have to die, nor cry again as all such things will have passed away. Rev 21:3,4. So sleep on my dear sis. I anxiously await our reunion where I to will get another huge hug from you. Love always.

Derah was my neighbor for 22 years and my friend for 45 years. I have many memories of her but one of my funniest memories is when went as band chaperones to Orlando, Florida. We both had so much fun. My heart hurts for myself and her loving family. Derah will be greatly missed. 💜

Aunt Derah, your smile and laugher is something that will not be forgotten. I loved how your laughter had a way of filling a room with much joy. You are loved and will be missed dearly. Love Sally and Family

I will forever miss my "Mom" hugs. I could not walk any further than the carport door before I got one from her when I got "Home" to GA and I had to get one from her as soon as she walked in my door here in SC. There was and never will be another feeling like that on this Earth. I miss you so much Mom!
