Mr. Mark Elliott Sellers, long time resident of Hiram, GA, loving husband and father of two children passed away on December 31, 2020 at the age of 58.
Mark was born on March 31, 1962 in Baxley, GA, to Floyd Clifton Sellers and Elizabeth Anne Owens Sellers. He received his BBA in Information Science from the University of Georgia in August 1984. Mark had a long career as a lead software developer/designer with Coca Cola Enterprises, The Home Depot, and Norfolk Southern Railroad. He ended his career at the Cobb County School District where he enjoyed his position as Software Engineer with many loving and caring co-workers/friends.
On May 5, 1990, he married Marie Bennett Sellers. They raised one daughter, Laura Anne Sellers, and one son, William Bennett Sellers.
Mark had a passion and love for Christ, his family, UGA football (Go Dawgs), and golf. He was known for his wit, infectious smile and kind and loving spirit. He was a wonderful husband, and excellent father, and a faithful and loving friend.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, “Fishbait”, and his mother, Anne. He is survived by his wife, Marie, his two children, Laura Anne and Will, his twin sister, Nancy Sellers Poppell, and his brother, Dr. Scott Sellers-Velasco, and several in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Bellamy Funeral Home Chapel in Hiram, GA at 3pm with Rev. David Jones, Mr. Ronald Patrick, & Mr. Rick Drescher officiating followed by interment at Morris Cemetery in Powder Springs.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 1pm to 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers and they include; Matthew Sellers, John Sellers, Alan Hutcheson, Jeremy Anderson, Justin Holloway, and Jerry Womack.
